Every Christmas Eve Cuenca, Ecuador puts on the largest parade of the year, with as many as 80,000 participants. The centerpiece is a small statue of the Baby Jesus that was blessed by Pope John XX!!!. Chidlren and adults come up in costume to celebrate the birth of Jesus (or sometimes the coming of Santa Claus).
